Colors

Carol with backup singersNotice the red/blue colors everywhere. Consider that blue represents truth and red represents lies. Pay particular attention to emphasis on blue/red hair colors and Betty's reaction to blue or red. This may seem obvious, but I only really noticed this the 3d time around. - (ladive)

Consistently blue connotes show business - the blue neon sign and the blue entrance of Club Silencio, the puff of blue smoke, the blue box. In the case of the blue haired woman in the balcony, it tells the viewer that she is a performer. She repeats the club's message, 'Silencio', and with the film's last word, again damns show business. - (bunter)

There's a pink chair and a blue chair beside the pool when Adam walks in. Pink and blue tins of paint in the shed. He picks the pink one. She's wearing a blue dress. She ends up pink and blue - is there a colour clue scheme going on? The 16 reasons song - again note the blue and pink colour scheme. Is there a pink, "nice" Betty and a blue "nasty" Betty? - (Steve Rose)

Flowers

While Betty and Rita are sitting at Winkie's to study the paper, there is a vase of blue roses by their table.

Blue rose is an impossibility, something that cannot exist in nature, therefore its meaning is self-evident. Blue rose cases are codeword for those unusual, either unexplained or never fully explained cases which cannot be rationally or scientifically explained, usually involving some supernatural phenomena.

A distinct blue rose shows up in Twin Peaks. Its meaning is never revealed.

"Curtains are both hiding and revealing. Sometimes it's so beautiful that they're hiding, it gets your imagination going. But in the theatre, when the curtains open, you have this fantastic euphoria, that you're going to see something new, something will be revealed." (David Lynch)

Dream Dictionary (TristanLove)

Accident
As extensions of ourselves, vehicles often represent the physical body, so an accident dream may indicate a health problem or anxieties about health. If the general tone of the dream is positive, accidents may symbolize something or some part of life of which one is letting go.
To dream of a car accident, symbolizes your emotional state. You may be harboring deep anxieties and fears. Are you "driving" yourself too hard? This dream may tell you to slow down before you hit disaster. You need to rethink or re-plan your course of actions and set yourself on a better path.
Dreams of car accidents, as a rule, should not be considered literally precognitive. They are considered to be reflections of emotional "loss of control" however, which likely will be reflected in excessive behaviors and erratic decisions in waking life.

Amorous
To dream that you are amorous, denotes that your personal desires and illicit pleasures may land you into trouble.

Aunt
To see your aunt in your dream, signifies that you will be harshly reprimanded for some action, which will cause you much distress.

Awaken
To dream that you are awakened, represents a spiritual rebirth. You may be acknowledging and embracing both your feminine and masculine aspects of Self. You are utilizing your fullest potential. Consider who or what awakened you. This is an indication of what is lacking or missing in your life.

Bathroom
To dream that you are in the bathroom, relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to "relieve yourself". Alternatively, it may symbolize purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically.
In our dreams bathrooms may suggest that there is a need for emotional and psychological cleansing. You may need to get rid of emotional and psychological baggage. It is difficult to be carefree and happy when old issues keep "bringing you down." The bathroom is a good dream symbol. Consider all of the details in your dream. Make an effort to cleanse your mind and spirit by putting useless thoughts and feeling behind you.

Body
Dreams that somehow emphasize the physical body may represent something about one's state of health. Because our personal identities are so tied up with the body, the body can also appear as a more general symbol of the self (e.g., a naked body may indicate that we feel exposed).
To dream about your own body, signifies your level of self-worth and self-esteem. Often times, these qualities are dependent on your physical appearance or how your perceive yourself. The dream body also reflects your conscious identity. The body is also representative of your state of health.
Dreaming about your body generally suggests that you are dreaming about your personal identity. Who we are is wrapped around what we look like. Our self-esteem and self-worth are too frequently dependent on our physical appearance. This dream may be pointing out some of the difficulties or pleasures in daily life that are the result of self-identity and based on attachment to our physical bodies. The body in general is the symbol of self, and the details in the dream will lead you to further interpretation. Additionally, if you are dreaming of a specific body region, or part, consider your health status.

Box
Boxes have a complex range of meanings. For Freud, boxes represented the womb or the vagina. Much depends on one's circumstances and on the particular disposition of the box in a dream. During a move, boxes in a dream might simply reflect the moving experience. Certain common metaphors, such as "feeling boxed in," can be expressed by boxes in dreams. Boxes may contain danger (as in "Pandora's box") or gifts (a "gift box").
To see a box in your dream, signifies your instinctual nature and destructive impulses. Alternatively, you may be trying to preserve and protect some aspect of yourself. The box may also symbolize your limitations and restrictions. To dream that you are opening a box, denotes that things are being revealed about yourself that were once hidden.

Car
The emotional feeling about the car determines the meaning. Taking charge of one's life would be indicated if one were "in the driver's seat." Allowing one's life to be driven by others might be indicated by a "backseat driver" or by "taking the backseat." The dreamer may be driven to new heights before he or she is ready. Or perhaps the dreamer is finally lifting himself or herself out of a rut.

Coffee
To dream that you are drinking or need your coffee, suggests that you should gain some insight and knowledge before making a decision or tackling some project/relationship. You may be acting too hasty and need to slow down. Alternatively, it may imply a need for you to change your routine.

Cry
To dream that you are crying, signifies a release of negative emotions that is more likely caused by some waking situation then the events of the dream itself. Your dream is a way to regain some emotional balance and a way to safely let out your fears and frustrations. In our daily lives, we tend to ignore, deny, or repress our feelings. But in our dream state, our defense mechanisms are no longer on guard and thus allow for the release of such emotions.
In our dreams we experience a variety of emotions. Crying in the dream state generally has the same meaning as crying in daily life. It is a release of negative emotion, frustration, or fear. On the other hand, you could be experiencing the tears of joy. Due to repression or denial, sometimes people are unable to express their feelings. In the dream state some of our defense mechanisms may relax and an emotional release occurs. Some emotional dreams may be compensatory in nature. Thus, if you never cry in daily life, you may cry in your dreams.

Death
Dreaming about death is very common and it can be interpreted in many different ways. Death is usually a symbol of some type of closure or end. It implies an end to one thing and a beginning of another. Death dreams usually have positive symbolism. Alternatively, the devil may represent intelligence, cunningness, deception, and cleverness. In this aspect, the Bum represents Diane's recognition of her own repulsive emotions and reality.

Disappear
To dream that people or objects are disappearing right before your eyes, signifies your anxiety and insecurities over the notion that loved ones might disappear out of your life. You may feel that you cannot depend on someone and feel that you are alone and inadequate. You need to work on your self-image and self-esteem. Alternatively, to dream that someone is disappearing suggests that you may not have given sufficient attention to those aspects/qualities of that person within your own self. Have you lost touch with some aspect of yourself?

Disguise
To dream that you are in a disguise, signifies that you are hiding from something or someone in your waking life. It is time to face reality and stop hiding behind a facade.

You will be blessed with good physical and mental health. Alternatively, a dwarf may mean an aspect of yourself that is not fully developed or has been repressed.
At times people will see dwarfs, midgets, or very small people in their dreams. These images seem to represent, or allude to, the childlike creative powers in the unconscious. You can think of the dwarf as a "worker" in your unconscious. He could represent some childlike condition which has the potential and power to influence your life. Consider the details and the emotional tone in the dream and make an attempt to connect it to a situation in your daily life. The dwarf suggests possibilities for learning and brings to the conscious mind messages from the unconscious.

Hat
To see a hat in your dream, signifies that you are concealing something or covering up something. Alternatively, it may represent the role you play or the responsibilities you have in life.
Hats are usually symbolic of power and authority. They also stereotype the person that is wearing it. Look at the details in your dream especially who is wearing the hat. Killing
This dream may also represent a part of you or your life that you wish would leave you alone and stop creating a nuisance. Killing may represent the killing off of old parts of yourself and old habits.
Usually a metaphoric expression of anger in a dream. Whom did you kill? Can you identify the recipient of your anger in waking life? In dreams of murdering loved ones or family members, the dreamer may be worried about a current course of action, which he or she believes is "hurting" the murdered person.
If you are killing someone in your dreams, you are probably expressing hostile feelings. Some believe that since a photograph represents something real, it could represent a deception or distortion of some kind. Someone may be trying to sell something to you and is covering up the truth, or you may be doing the covering yourself. New Age thinking points out that dreaming of pictures means you have not learned a particular lesson in life. The dream may be calling attention to past events and reminding you that you are making the same errors all over again.

Picture

Prophetic dream
Prophetic dreams, also referred to as precognitive dreams, are dreams that seemingly foretell the future. One rational theory to explain this phenomenon is that our dreaming mind is able to piece together bits of information and observation that we normally overlook or that we do not seriously consider. In other words, our unconscious mind knows what is coming before we consciously piece together the same information. In the dream Diane sees a dead body in her bed. Her psyche speculates that someone will end up dead there, but the inconsistencies of hair and robe color don't definitively dispell who's body it is.

Purse
To dream that you are carrying a purse, signifies secrets which are being closely held and guarded. To dream that you lost your purse, denotes loss of power and control of possessions. It also suggests that you may have lost touch with your real identity.
Because they hold our identification papers (driver's license, social security card, student identification, etc.), money (cash, checkbooks, bank and credit cards), and beauty accessories (make-up, lipstick, personal hygiene items), purses in dreams are associated with feelings of identity and beauty.
Dreams of losing one's purse, accordingly, reflect feelings that one's identity, power or beauty may be in peril. These dreams are common following a separation or divorce, or after losing a job or enduring a forced transition in one's career. If you are homosexual, dreams regarding this particular sexual orientation are not atypical. They are simply the extension of your thoughts and feelings in the form that is the most familiar and meaningful to you. If a heterosexual person is having a homosexual dream, it may have a variety of connotations. This dream may be about loving yourself, especially if the other individual in your dream is a stranger. The dream may be about integrating new ideas and attitudes.

Walls as dream images are generally considered obstacles and sources of isolation or confinement. Some people are emotionally guarded and feel unable to express themselves freely. If you are such a person, this dream symbol might be pointing to the walls that you have built around yourself. Additionally, if you are experiencing challenges and seemingly impenetrable difficulties in daily life, the wall in your dream may be a reflection of those factors.

Wig
To dream that you are wearing a wig, symbolizes deception, false impressions and falsehood. You may be taking on other people's ideas and opinions and trying to pass them off as your own. You are not being true to your own beliefs. You need to start thinking for yourself.
