This film is directed by David Mackenzie, most known for his independent film "Young Adam" also starring Ewan McGregor. The premise of the film I've been told is about two people, a chef and doctor, who fall in love just as people start to lose their senses. Taste, smell, touch, hear, sight all start disappearing one by one.

I saw the trailer about a month ago and it immediately caught my attention, being a fan of Mackenzie's work. It is being released in the UK I'm told on October 7th. I'm really interested in seeing it, but I guess I'll have to wait a lot longer, living in the States and all. x|

You've all seen Primer, right? The uber headfuck time travel movie to end all headfuck time travel movies.

If not, you need to rectify that.

Well here comes the writer/director's follow-up, a whole NINE years later.

Debuting at Sundance this week. Upstream Color.

Synopsis:

A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.

Great! Never heard of it but Time Travel is my absolute Favourite!!

I always thought that as a superpower it would be the coolest. But things get confusing quickly plus when it comes to time-travel-tourism I'm increasingly of the opinion that all periods of human history are basically the same. Now I veer towards shape-shifting-into-any-animal as my superpower of choice.

Anyway, I think I'll be watching Primer THIS WEEK, thanks for the tip Blu

Can I urge you all again to check out Los Criminos Chronos (Time Crimes), a low budget Spanish three hander. Publicity material makes it look like a slasher flick but don't be fooled. It left us all spooked and unnerved more than any other film I care to remember!

Any more time travel films anyone can recommend would be very much appreciated!

Inside Out

Ok so maybe Pixar isn't the first choice for you guys, but this does look interesting and reminds me a lot of Alan Shaw's coherent persona based analysis of MD. Though this reviewer reckons it's never been done before (except by Virginia Woolf), the uplit red curtains in this trailer remind me a lot of Mr Roque's Room and the Red Room. Perhaps the folks at Pixar are up on their Lynch!
