Congrats to David Lynch for being honored by the Academy and awarded an honorary Oscar.

It's bittersweet, as it would have been great for Lynch to receive an Oscar for a competitive category, but others have been in the same category, in fact, one of the greatest directors of all time: Alfred Hitchcock. And like Hitch, Lynch's acceptance speech was incredibly short as well.
