Dinner party music?

Postby quowel » 01 Feb 2016

The official soundtrack release for Mulholland Drive omits a track that plays between "Dinner Party Pool Music" and "Mountains Fall" while Diane is talking to Coco at the dinner party. The defining characteristics of the track are a walking double bass line, amusing use of a TR-808 drum machine, and that I have been able to find absolutely nil info about this track anywhere. Can anyone help me out?

I'd love to know that little piece too, it's very compelling and hypnotizing in an odd way, in that it sounds so innocent and innocuous in contrast to the dark tensions.

I don't know the name of the track, but it is also used in the Missing Pieces from Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me.

hey,

I just created an account to answer this, as I was searching for it, too!

It's called "One Dog Bark", by Thought Gang (Angelo and David's project that contributed "A Real Indication" to the TP:FWWM sound track). They released an album of that music last year. Or maybe the year before. What year is this?

Check it out here:

I love the way her dialog matches the tempo of the music, almost like she's doing spoken word to it.

cheers,
g
