They're in the imdb credits, Betty 1 and Betty 2. And I think Justine is even called a Betty later on in the movie. Extraneous and otherwise coincidental... Blonde and brunette interact throughout last half of movie. No horse statues but an actual horse.

Must watch a second time and search for Bettys. Not sure I can stand the that much melancholia again though!

Screenshots of Bettys place settings at wedding party so Lars clearly wanted to draw attention to their names for some reason.

I knew this was referenced somewhere else on m-d.net but I couldn't remember where and add this to the right thread... Sorry...

Also, in total agreement, there should have been more symmetry between the two parts of Melancholia, more intertextuality, furthermore the character of claire, while well acted, was one dimensional, here you had this rich complex character in Justine for the first half and then sort of a character development let down in the second half with Claire.

I like Melancholia. Not a big fan of Lars though.... Lars.

In the US version the main character's lamp in his bedroom is exactly like Lost Girl's in Inland Empire.
