As I mentioned in another thread, I read through a bunch of David Lynch interviews. In one of these I found the following thing:
"'When Mulholland Dr. came out, no one understood it,' says Lynch[...]'Now, everyone understands that one but they don't understand this one[Inland Empire]."'
*Everyone* understands it now...? That is an interesting statement... I think this could only mean that the theory about Mulholland Drive that most people have(the standard theory: first part dream, second part real), is the right one according to Lynch.
