Postby peturs » 24 Apr 2011

It's my first post after watching the film 4 times. English is not my first language so please pardon my grammar faults.
1 When betty go to the auditon ,the director bobby's remarks seem to make all of the people there impatient, bobby himself is not concentrate on betty's show too much either.why?

2 There is a chain phone call from the mafia boss Mr.Roque to a Man Sitting in a lobby with only his back can be viewed then to a hairy armed man, what they are talking about? Rita's missing so they are hitman's ? Or something else? P.S. Why the hairy armed man call an internal line to Diane Selwyn's home? They do not live in the same building don't they?

3 What is the meaning of the number 16,like the Room kesher hide, sixteen reasons and the house diane hide from the policeman?

4Some people say that there were two people in same dress followed Irene and Betty when they arrived at the airport. But i've never found them? Can somebody give a picture?

5 who is the man shouted help me?
6 who is the cowboy?
7 who is the woman Diane borrowed plates and other things from?
8There is a painting in Ruth's room,it's a woman with headscarf, the photographer mentioned it obviously, what does it mean?

9 The man killed by that stupid hitman has a strand of burnt-hair,what that mean?

10 why Irene and his husband takes limo?are they mafia? Why did they laugh?

11 who is the huge man sent to Kesher's house ?

I'll take a stab (and use this as my first post here!) :

1. Diane has had bad experiences with director's turning her down so in her mind she portrays them as dumb and insignificant.

2. This is Diane's portrayal of shadowy big-wigs controlling the entertainment industry.

3. Not sure.

4. -

5. Don't remember this bit.

6. An abusive uncle to Diane perhaps?

7. Possibly a friend that Diane betrayed to have success in Hollywood?

8. Not sure.

9. Not sure.

10. Diane portraying her life as a rich actress and affording to give her relatives expensive Limo rides?

11. Someone linked with the shadowy big-wigs?

Firstly ... welcome Skumball. Hello old-timer. Good to see you. 8-)

I'll try and build on some, but not all, of your answers in bold below. Apologies if I dump a few links, but there's some good reading on some of the subjects on the main site.

No one has ever truly got to the bottom of this, but most of the occurences are noted on this page of the main site to help with your digging: http://mulholland-drive.net/studies/numerology.htm

5. Don't remember this bit.

Vincenzo Castigliane. He's one of the two brothers who seems to have a vested interest (financial, I assume) in the Sylvia North Story film of Diane's dream.

6. An abusive uncle to Diane perhaps?

7. Possibly a friend that Diane betrayed to have success in Hollywood?

Diane's neighbour, Woman in #12, The Lamp Lady, De Rosa. People call her different things, and if you're looking for a definitive answer to who she is, you will be lucky to find it ... an intriguing character:

8. Not sure.

Beatrice Cenci: http://mulholland-drive.net/studies/painting.htm

9. Not sure.

My opinion on that is that the strands of hair with the single drop of blood at the end is an arrow pointing to something in Ed's office. There's a poster in there with a heap more blood on it that can only be glimpsed very briefly and I think the hair is pointing to that.

10. Diane portraying her life as a rich actress and affording to give her relatives expensive Limo rides?

... or some old folks back home from Deep River laughing at Diane's hopeless dreams of becoming a great actress and making it on the "big screen"?

11. Someone linked with the shadowy big-wigs?

A henchman associated with the Castigliane Bros looking for Adam because they are mightily pissed off that he smashed their Limo up.

Hope some of that is helpful.

More than happy to discuss or elaborate or hear alternative views.

He passes her in the doorway, but he doesn't turn into her.

And what is Miley Cyrus's father doing here?
Just a joke?
